Merewether High School is a fair school in Broadmeadow. We are called Merewether High School not because of our location, but because we named ourself after Mr Edward Christopher Merewether.

[edit] Closure after storm

As a result of the Newcastle flood, the school was closed from Tuesday 12th June to Thursday 14th June (inclusive), as outlined in the bulletin provided by the school website (look under Breaking News).

 The school will remain closed to students
on Thursday 14 June 2007 due to storm damage
-  the site is still too dangerous for
students to be on site with a significant OH&S
risk due to broken overhanging trees - details
of when normal lessons will recommence will be
posted on this site as soon as known - updated

[edit] Policies and such

We are a selective school. This means the work is generally harder.

The uniform is a blue shirt and navy blue shorts for juniors, and a white shirt and navy blue shorts for seniors.

Students go to the school for 6 years. After that, they don't any more.
