Generally defined as a rotting, undead creature whose reincarnation or possessing of said rotting corpse gives it the intelligence as well as the capacity for emotion and movement slightly higher than that of a vegetable. Zombies tend to be the strong, slow type whose sole motivation is to eat human brains. This is not always the case.

This type of zombie occurs when a generally unassuming human is exposed to a mutagen such that it affects the genetic makeup of the being, causing a Zombie to be created. This concept is present in the computer game, 'Shadow of Chernobyl'.
