[edit] Setting your Preferences
First, lets start off by customising your user account. You can do this by clicking on Preferences at the top of the screen. Using the intuitive interface, you can set your password, details, and personalise your options for viewing YouWiki. You can also change the default skin for the website by visiting the Skin section of your Preferences. If you have been allocated a default password by the sysop, you should change your password to make your account more secure.
[edit] Editing your Userpage
To edit your personal userpage, simply click on your username (which should be coloured red if this is your first time) and begin editing. You should check out Help:Editing if you don't already know some Pipe syntax. You will find this language extremely simple and almost second nature after just a few edits, and it is certainly much more simple than HTML or other such markup languages. On your userpage, include any relevant information about yourself that you would like the world to see. This is your turf and you can do whatever you like with it, without being offensive or violating the Terms of Use.
[edit] Creating Pages
Creating a page is as easy as a single click. Any link that is coloured red represents a page that is not yet created and would benefit our site if it was created. Once you have created the page, just use the Editing Help and Help:Editing_pages pages. If you would like to create your own, fresh page, simply use the search box on the left of the screen to search for the page title. If this title does not exist, you can click on a link to create a new page of that title. Please don't vandalise and do use your editing powers for good and for the benefit of the YouWiki community.

Please remember to follow regular Netiquette rules, ie:
- no offensive language
- no bullying etc
- NO NEEDLESSLY CAPITALISED SENTENCES (this represents shouting)
- treat others with respect
- respect others' work and they will respect yours
