Taking the Glenrock Parachute jump recently, Willem bent the front Single Track rim, and it caught in his front fork, causing him to go over the handle bars and eat shit. He is waiting for the arrival of his new Mavic 729 rims, which he will lace to some new hubs.

Other cycling gear was purchased to facilitate Willem's riding of the bike. This included:

  • 661 Pressure Suit (body armour)
  • 661 Evolution fullface helmet
  • Kona Chevron riding gloves
  • Fox Launch knee/shin pads
  • Blur goggles

[edit] Wheel building

On 17 Sept 2008, Willem began lacing his new wheelset by lacing and tensioning the front wheel. He still needs a dishing tool to correct the dish of the wheel. He is using Sheldon Brown's site as a guide.
