A Unicycle is a human powered vehicle with one wheel. It is a little more difficult to ride than a bicycle, but shares the same basics. A Unicycle is technically an Inverted Pendulum. The types of Unicycles include (but aren't limited to): Munis, Trials, Giraffes, Freestyle and Beginner.

[edit] Unicycling isn't just for clowns

Unicycling is a popular and highly respected skill and is popular for many events. A Mountain Uni, a MUni, is a unicycle specifically designed to go down large, long mountains. It takes skill and stamina. A Trials Unicycle is used for getting from one place to another, no matter the obstacles. Trials competitions are usually held in large, skate-able cities. These two forms of Unicycling are known as Extreme Unicycling.

Other uses for Unicycles are for sports. The two most popular are Unicycle Hockey and Unicycle Gridiron. The Unicycle Gridiron scene is strong in Newcastle. Newcastle is host to the Unicycle Gridiron All-Stars, a talented team of the top professionals of the sport.
